about

After successful releases on praised Portuguese netlabels like Test Tube or MiMi Records, Daniel Catarino, the mastermind behind the Long Desert Cowboy moniker makes his first appearance on Cakes and Tapes with his sixth release overall and his first tape ever, an eerie 29 minute collection of instrumental pieces that evoke the memory of recently deceased people who were an inspiration to the author - hence the name of the album. The dark, bleak atmosphere of Symphony of the Deceased marks a slight departure from his past releases, seeming more suitable for a thriller/horror movie soundtrack than for a western, while keeping the pristine cinematic qualities of its predecessors.
